In indirect hydraulic elevator jack systems, parachute cartridges are used to secure the cab as a safety brake. Indirect hydraulic lift systems due to the use of towing wire to move cabs and the need for a safety brake in the event of a malfunctioning towing wire, a parachute system embedded in the carsling without the need for a governor and only by loosening one of the towing heads. The standard applies to towing wire, and the cab and carassing stop within a few centimeters.
